The Torch run in Indonesia, like the one in Pakistan, will be held inside a sports stadium. the stadium is called: "Bung Karno Sports Complex" and is located in central Jakarta. if anyone have any details on when and what. will happen, email it to no.torch@gmail.com and I will post it here.

Press Statement regarding the Torch Relay in Bangkok

Solidarity with the Tibetans – “One World, One Peace”

(Bangkok, 19 April 2008) We, representing student organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and human rights organizations, as listed below, have gathered today in conjunction to the Olympic torch relay in Bangkok. We express our solidarity with the Tibetans who have fought for their rights but have faced violent crackdown, mass killings, torture and arbitrary detentions last month.

Our network condemns the actions of the Chinese government, which include killing, arbitrary detention, committing torture, and other human rights violations against the Tibetan people. According to the information received by the Tibetan Center for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD), a human rights organization based in Dharamsala, India, it is reported that after the crackdown on the peaceful demonstrators in Tibet, there were more than 140 people killed, and almost 2,300 detained.

The network does not support the boycott of the Olympic games, but we see that the Chinese government as the host to the Olympics, which is considered an event for humanity, should live up to the Olympic principle of “peace, freedom, solidarity, and respect of human dignity”, as stated in the Olympic Charter. Since we are peace-loving people and as a part of the world citizen, we feel that the Chinese government should respect the principle of the Olympics.

The network has these following demands:

(1) Similar to the demands of the global No Torch in Tibet campaign, we call on the Chinese and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to cancel the torch relay through Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. We are concern with the possible mass human rights violations that will occur after the Chairman of the Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) stated that the demonstrators will be dealt with “severely”.
(2) The Chinese government must respect the principle of human rights and the international human rights law. As the Chinese government has used the Olympics to portray improvements in their human rights record, it should not taint these Olympic Games with bloody hands. Additionally, China is a member to the UN Human Rights Council and must be the model for human rights.
(3) We support the call by regional human rights organizations calling for the UN Human Rights Council to dispatch independent UN investigators to Tibet to conduct a fact finding mission on the human rights violations and reflect accurately the number of people killed, murdered and arrested as well as to give recommendations to the Chinese government.
(4) The Chinese government must open a round of dialogue with the Tibetan government in exile, especially with the Dalai Lama to discuss an end to human rights violations and the reforms in the Chinese policies to make Tibetans marginalized culturally, politically, and socially.
(5) The Chinese government must stop human rights violation with its own workers. We also call to the IOC to stop supporting the brand-named sweat shops that exploit labor for salary less than the recognized standard.
(6) Lastly we call on the Chinese government to improve its human rights record domestically and internationally. We call on China to stop supporting authoritarian regimes such as the Sudan and Burmese military regime.

We believe in peace and freedom for the people.

แถลงการณ์กรณีคบเพลิงโอลิมปิควิ่งผ่านกรุงเทพฯ

สมานฉันท์เพื่อประชาชนทิเบต – “หนึ่งโลก หนึ่งสันติภาพ”

(กรุงเทพฯ, 19 เมษายน 2551) พวกเราองค์กรนักศึกษา องค์กรพัฒนาเอกชน และองค์กรสิทธิมนุษยชน ภายใต้องค์กรข้างล่างได้ร่วมกันชุมนุมอย่างสันติในวันนี้โอกาสที่คบเพลิงโอลิมปิคได้วิ่งผ่านกรุงเทพฯ ขอแสดงความสมานฉันท์ให้กับประชาชนทิเบตที่เรียกร้องสิทธิของตนเอง แต่ได้รับการปราบปราบ สังหาร และจับกุมอย่างทารุณในเดือนที่ผ่านมา

ทางเครือข่ายขอประนามรัฐบาลจีนในสังหาร คุมขัง ทรมาน และการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนกับประชาชนทิเบต ข้อมูลจากศูนย์สิทธิมนุษยชนและประชาธิปไตยซึ่งเป็นองค์กรสิทธิมนุษยชนที่ประจำ ณ เมืองธรรมาศาลา ประเทศอินเดียได้รายงานว่าหลังจากการมีการปราบการชุมนุมของประชาชนในทิเบต มีผู้เสียชีวิตมากกว่า 140 คน และมีผู้ได้รับการคุมขังประมาณ 2,300 คน

ทางเครือข่ายไม่ได้มีจุดยืนในการบอยคอตหรือต่อต้านการจัดกีฬาโอลิมปิด แต่เห็นว่ารัฐบาลจีนในฐานะที่โอลิมปิคซึ่งเป็นกีฬาแห่งมนุษชาติและเป็นกีฬาเพื่อ “สันติภาพ เสรีภาพ ความสมานฉันท์ และการเคารพศักดิ์ศรีความเป็นมนุษย์” ตามที่กฎบัตรของโอลิมปิคว่าไว้ เราจึงขอแสดงจุดยืนในฐานะเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของประชาชนที่รักสันติและมนุษยชาติว่ารัฐบาลจีนควรจะเคารพหลักการของโอลิมปิค ไม่ใช่ว่าจะละเมิดเสียเอง

นอกจากนี้เครือข่ายจึงมีข้อเรียกร้องดังนี้:

(1) เช่นเดียวกับข้อเรียกร้องของประชาชนทั่วโลก เราเรียกร้องให้รัฐบาลจีนและคณะกรรมการโอลิมปิคยกเลิกการที่จะมีการวิ่งคบเพลิงในกรุงลาซา เนื่องจากเรากังวลว่าจะมีการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนอย่างหนัก หลังจากที่ผู้ว่าการทิเบตได้ออกมากล่าวว่าจะมีการปราบผู้ชุมนุมอย่างรุนแรง “ให้ถึงที่สุด”

(2) รัฐบาลจีนต้องเคารพหลักสิทธิมนุษยชนและกฎหมายสิทธิมนุษยชนระหว่างประเทศ ในฐานะที่เป็นเจ้าภาพแข็งขันกีฬาโอลิมปิคและการที่รัฐบาลจีนได้ใช้โอลิมปิคเป็นการสร้างภาพว่ามีพัฒนาการทางด้านสิทธิมนุษยชน และการที่รัฐบาลจีนเป็นสมาชิกของคณะมนตรีความมั่นคงของสหประชาชาติ รัฐบาลจีนไม่ควรทำให้การแข็งขันกีฬาโอลิมปิคครั้งนี้เป็นโอลิมปิค “เปื้อนเลือด”

(3)เราสนับสนุนขอเรียกร้องที่เกิดขึ้นโดยองค์กรสิทธิมนุษยชนระดับภูมิภาคที่เรียกร้องให้มีการส่งคณะผู้ตรวจสอบสิทธิมนุษยชนเข้าไปในทิเบต เพื่อตรวจสอบการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนและสรุปจำนวนผู้เสียชีวิต บาดเจ็บ และถูกคุมขัง และให้ข้อเสนอแนะกับรัฐบาลจีน

(4) รัฐบาลจีนต้องเปิดให้มีการเจรจาอีกครั้งกับรัฐบาลผลัดถิ่นของทิเบตนำโดยองค์ดาไล ลามะในทันทีเพื่อยุติการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนและนโยบายทางการเมืองต่าง ๆ ที่ทำให้ประชาชนทิเบตเป็นชายขอบทางวัฒนธรรม การเมือง และสังคม

(5) รัฐบาลจีนต้องยุติการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนกับแรงงานในประเทศ รวมถึงเรียกร้องไปถึงคณะกรรมการโอลิมปิคที่ยุติการสนับสนุนบรรษัทผลิตสินค้าโอลิมปิคที่ใช้แรงงานเยี่ยงทาส

(6) ท้ายที่สุด เราขอเรียกร้องให้รัฐบาลจีนพัฒนาสถานการณ์สิทธิมนุษยชนในประเทศและยุติการสนับสนุนประเทศที่มีรัฐบาลเป็นเผด็จการ เช่น กรณีรัฐบาลจีนส่งอาวุธไปให้รัฐบาลซูดานในการเข่นฆ่าประชาชนตัวเอง[i] และให้การสนับสนุนกับรัฐบาลพม่า[ii]

เราเชื่อมั่นในสันติภาพและเสรีภาพของประชาชน

WHY:

(1) Solidarity with Tibetans in Tibet and abroad who have been killed, detained and tortured while fighting for their rights
(2) To demand that the Olympic Torch should not run through Tibet, as the Chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region stated that demonstrators will be dealt with "severely".
(3) To demand China to respect freedom of expression and assembly, as well as to respect the values of the Olympics which is "freedom, equality, and solidarity".
(4) To demand an International Fact Finding Mission commissioned by the UN Human Rights Council.
(5) To encourage dialogue between the Tibetan Government in Exile and Chinese Government
(6) To raise concern of human rights violations in China against workers and by sweatshops relating to the Olympic.
(7) To raise concerns on how the Chinese government is supporting authoritarian regimes abroad such as Sudan and Burma.

(6) เพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนในจีนและการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนโดยบริษัทผลิตสินค้าโอลิมปิคกับแรงงาน
(7) เพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของรัฐบาลจีนในการสนับสนุนรัฐบาลเผด็จการเช่นในประเทศซูดานและพม่า

At 7.40 pm yesterday, Noppadon Pattama said that "although he requests that no protest be held but the rights to freedom of assembly is protected under the law, so peaceful assembly can be done".

Re-the revoking of visa for foreign nationals, he said "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not have any policy to revoke the visa of foreign national if he/she abide by the law. Foreign national can join the demonstratration as it is their rights under the constitution. But any who snatch the torch or create disruption during the run will be deal with legally according to the law.

Planning Meeting for Demonstration

Free Tibet Network, together with Thai Labour Campaign, Social Critic Group - Chulalongkorn University, Workers Democracy Group, Social Democracy Study Group - Thammasat University, Young People for Democracy - Thailand, would like to invite all student activists, NGO activists, and peace-lovers to join the preparatory meeting to prepare for the protest of the Olympic torch relay (which is set to be held on Saturday 19 April).

The meeting will be held at the Students Christian Center (SCC) near Rajathewi BTS Station at Thursday 17 April 2008, at 7.00 pm.
